Homemade Tomato Sauce

From Cooks.com

(This is my go-to sauce recipe. It is delicious—and I make a lot of sauce throughout the season!)

  1. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until just soft. Add all of the ingredients and mix well. Cover and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat, remove lid, and simmer for 2-3 hours or until desired thickness, stirring occasionally. Makes approximately 2 quarts.

(Also—have a loaf of crusty bread on hand. It's very important to periodically break off pieces of bread and and dip it into the sauce to taste it. Trust me...it will make you happy.)
