Shipping and Handling
Ah, shipping costs…the necessary evil. Please be assured that we’re not trying to make a profit on shipping: we’re trying to use the most reliable, environmentally friendly, cost-effective shipping company available to deliver your babies safely. Also, when placing your order, the rule of “4” applies…you’ll get the best shipping and packaging value by purchasing in multiples of 4 plants. They just fit well when packaged in fours. Of course, we’ll happily ship as few as one plant or as many as you like…We’ll constantly be monitoring our shipping options to find the best service at the best price for you, our valued gardening friends.
We ship by UPS Ground whenever possible to minimize your costs. However, you don’t want limp, sad plants showing up at your door…and we can’t let our babies linger in transit longer than three days. So, I’m sorry to say, we cannot ship UPS Ground to the following states: AZ, ID, MT, ND, NM, NV, OR, SD, UT, WA. We’ll use UPS 3-day shipping unless you prefer 2-day.
Also, please be aware that we would love to ship to CA…but due to an CA agricultural quarantine, we cannot service CA gardeners at this time. We also cannot ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or PO Boxes. Domestic orders only, please.
Shipping rates vary depending on the weight of your order, as well as the UPS zone in which you live. The rates will be automatically calculated for you when you enter your shipping information. If your order weighs more than 30 lbs., please call 864.325.3355 or e-mail julie@gardendelights-sc.com for the shipping rate.
Of course, if you happen to be in the Spartanburg, SC area…shipping rates don’t apply at all if you’d like to make arrangements to pick up your order! We’d love to see you. Just please call (864.325.3355) or e-mail (julie@gardendelights-sc.com) to arrange a date and time.
2010 Ship Dates
Plants will begin shipping at the end of March 2010, depending upon weather and zone location. We will make every effort to ensure your plants arrive by Friday of the ship week so you can enjoy a lovely weekend of planting! Plants cannot be shipped to PO Boxes, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, APO or FPO. Domestic orders only.
A Note about the Packaging…
At Garden Delights, we’re working to minimize our carbon footprint. From the OMRI certified, bidegradable Dot™ Pots we use to the compostable plant tags to the packaging that cushions the plants in transit from our garden to yours, we continuously search for the most environmentally-friendly solutions to growing and packaging. We’re not perfect, but we strive to be! Everything in your shipment is biodegradable, recyclable, and/or recycled. No plastic peanuts will ever touch our organic plants! Think that film wrapped around the plant’s pot to contain the soil in transit is plastic? Think again…it’s a biodegradable, compostable film made from plants!
